And the Dr said...

girl

She gave us a 90% chance. (I've heard that some couples are given that 90% until they give birth for liability issues) so we are thrilled to be welcoming our little girl in July!

Bring on the PINK!

Helloooooooo Maternity Wear!

The day has come! I have sent my regular clothes away for awhile. Nice and snug, folded away and organized under the bed in tupperware for the next few months. I am officially a maternity wearing pregnant chick and I love it! I have found the most comfortable pants ever from Motherhood Maternity called - The Secret Fit Belly. They might look silly (like most maternity pants seem to look) but they are heaven compared to some other maternity pants I have tried on.

My ever expanding bust has been demanding the extra room maternity tops provide since probably about my 7th week of pregnancy. But once you are in the pants, I believe is when the maternity wear is official!

So where's my membership card?? Oh, yea! The proof is in the baby belly! (Pictures of that to come really soon!!)

Little buds that WILL bloom...

Photobucket

Pregnancy loss is truley something I will never fully understand. Even if there is a clear explanation as to WHY, I just can not understand why not. This week alone, I have known 3 couples that have experienced it. It is so much more common then anyone would have thought.

One of the people that lost their little one this week was given a blanket at the hospital. Inside of it was a tag with "Budded on earth, to bloom in heaven" written on it. That is so comforting to me, and it is so true. I always refered to our 2 losses as our "heaven babies" so it just went hand in hand with how I already felt.

I believe it takes a special woman, and couple, to go through a pregnancy loss. Once you find out you are expecting, your world changes and your focus IS that baby. It is heartbreaking to know your baby has been sent to heaven before you even got to pick out the nursery color.

I wish no one ever had to go through it, and it always seems to happen to the most deserving couples. My heart breaks along with theirs.

To them, a reminder that no matter how difficult it seems, each new day is full of PROMISE and HOPE.

Mooooovin' On Up!

I realize I have yet to improve upon my lack of posting! One of these days, I promise, I will get better.

We are very excited to be admist our 2nd trimester with our sweet baby bean! Recently I have been feeling the baby move and it is nothing less then amazing. To know you are pregnant is one thing.. to FEEL the baby is a completely different experience. I am excited to reach the point where I can share these movements with Eric, so he can feel the baby moving too.

Lately I have been having some good talks with the baby, preparing it for our big anatomy ultrasound next week on Feb 7th. We are thrilled to find out our beans "flavor" and to start planning the nursery and buying fun clothes! I pray that the little cutie cooperates and gives a good view of the "goods"!

I will deffinitley post our latest ultrasound picture then..

Through The Eyes of a Child

The holidays are a magical time when your a child. But to me, even though I am a 27 year old "grown up" no longer shielded by the innocence of childhood, the holidays were most certainly magical. My nephews make it that way. So do my brother and sister.

Seeing the excitement in my nephews eyes on Christmas morning after Santa came, brought back so many memories. VERY early, my brother and I would always get up and sneek a peek while my sister, following the rules, layed in bed and waited until morning.

When you are a child, the most exciting part of Christmas is opening gifts. As an adult, and in my opinion, the most exciting part is being with family and enjoying the time together.

Sometimes I sit back and I just can't believe TIME. I can't believe my brother is married and has three adorable boys. Seems like yesterday his GI Joes were invading my Barbie house, and I was stealing candy out of his desk drawer. I can't believe the sister that was the best friend a little girl could have, has been married for 10 years and is in the heroic process of adopting a beauitful baby from China.

Here's to MANY more magical family filled holidays, looking forward to the hope and promises that 2008 bring us.

Third Times A Charm..

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Finding ourselves in familiar territory again is both refreshing and frightening. We are full of hope, but the hesitation of the unknown is hard to shake. Taking "baby steps" each day and focusing on the joy we feel knowing we are given another chance, helps us along.

The past haunts us, it is hard to give in totally, but knowing that there is a little one growing and developing fills us with a feeling that is absolutely indescribable.

We are farther along then we have been, in our 10th week. The progesterone the doctor has prescribed, combined with the fact that the slew of tests results after our last loss came back normal adds to our hope with this one.

Thanks to a find with http://www.bellybeats.com/ we have the luxury of hearing our beautiful little beans heartbeat everyday if we want and we love it!

The second trimester will be welcomed the first week in January with open arms and much excitement. Really this is the best Christmas gift we could ask for, and hope and pray that the third time IS a charm and that this little one is for KEEPS!

As a new year is approaching, looking back, 2007 was a year of struggles, loss and emotional/physical pain. We look ahead to 2008 with promise and hope that our dreams will come true and in July we will hold our little miracle.

I will try to post more often from now on... no matter what the future may hold!
