It was really cute (if you ask me, Eric, or any man, might have a different opinion of the place!), Cabbage Patch Kids galore! It was a self-guided tour through the "hospital" and the first stop was the nursery.
Our little Darby doo fit RIGHT in. If you ask me, it's hard to tell her from the Cabbage Patch Kids!
She made some friends ...
Visited the preemie babies in the NICU ...
... and made a quick stop by to see the babies freshly born from the cabbage!
While we were shopping around the gift shop, an announcement was made "Mother cabbage in labor. Please proceed to the giving tree if you would like to experience a live birth." It was an experience, to say the least! Before the "birth" the nurse preformed an ultrasound on the "Mother cabbage" to find out if it was a girl or boy. The ultrasound screen turned pink - thus it was a girl.
Then she gave "Mother cabbage" a shot of TLC and the Cabbage Patch Kid was born! Amazing!
If you had one as a child, you know that each Cabbage Patch Kid comes with a unique name and birth certificate. The nurse had 2 children in the crowd name the newly born baby. The first name was chosen by a boy, the middle name by a girl. Without further or do, I give you:
Elizabeth MelindaAfter the birth (I mean seriously, we watched a baby being born out of cabbage, how much better could it get??! ha!) we went and picked out a preemie baby for Darby to take home. She loves her little Cabbage Patch baby!
With that, our vacation had come to a sad end. We had such a great time with Emily and Andy, they were fantastic hosts. They have a beautiful home, fun dogs, cook YUMMY dinners and we love them and thank them for making our vacation perfect!
